Welcome to the PIC Registration and Amendment System (PRAS)
The Biosecurity (Livestock Traceability) Regulations 2024 require that properties where sheep, goats, cattle and pigs are kept have a Property Identification Code (PIC).
A PIC is a unique code used to identify the location of a property. The type of livestock on the property and the contact details for the livestock owner or operator are also recorded.
The PIC system is important for situations where there is a disease outbreak, or chemical residue or food safety issue and livestock owners and operators need to be quickly contacted.

PIC Applications
A property where sheep, goats, cattle or pigs are kept must have a PIC.
In some situations, a PIC can be allocated to more than one property if they are part of the same business.
It is recommended that property owners or operators with other livestock and primary produce apply for a PIC.
Please allow five working days for your application to be processed. You may be contacted if more information is needed.
You will be contacted by email and post with your PIC number and PRAS password.
The fee for a PIC application is $78.40.
